フラクタル上の非マルコフ確率過程（確率論）
確率過程とは，一言で言えばその動きが１通りでなく確率的に定まる運動である． 最も簡単な例としては整数点(...-2,-1,0,1,2,...)上のランダムウォークが挙げられる． 時刻0で原点にいて，時刻１では等確率で隣の点（１か−１）のどちらかへ移るとする． 同様に，時刻(n+1)では等確率で時刻nにいる位置の隣に移る．時刻(n-1)以前の振舞いは忘れてよい．
このような性質をマルコフ性といい，マルコフ性をもつ確率過程に関しては多くの研究がなされてきた． これに対して，時刻(n+1)での位置の予測に時刻(n-1)以前の振舞いが影響するものを非マルコフ（確率）過程という． 過去を記憶していなければならないという意味で，マルコフ過程と比べて取り扱いは決定的に難しく，数学的研究はまだ少ない． フラクタルは自己相似性を特徴とする空間であるが，その上で，特に，自己回避過程（一度通った点には戻れない），自己反発過程（一度通った点に戻りにくい）などの非マルコフ確率過程を扱っている． |
